According to White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, Obama's Daughters will not receive the vaccine based on their profile. Apparently, according to him, only children with an impaired immune system are supposed to take the vaccine. But, I don't think that is not what the media has been reporting at all. In fact, when my grandchildren went to get the "mist", the only thing the doctor asked about was any allergies. They are perfectly healthy kids.
It gets stranger all the time, as this is supposed to be a level 6 pandemic, not a virus that only attacks susceptible children. According to WHO, "Almost half of the reported cases of oseltamivir resistant virus have occured in patients taking oseltamivir for prophylaxis. While the significance of this observation is not yet clear, prophylaxis should only be offered where there are strong reasons for doing so..in general, WHO does not recommend the use of antiviral drugs for prophylactic purposes. For people who have had exposure to an infected person and are at a higher risk of developing severe or complicated illness, an alternative option is close monitoring for symptoms, followed by prompt early antiviral treatment should symptoms develop.
Why do I keep hearing doctors on Cable News, including Fox, recommending that children receive a flu shot for prevention. Am I missing something here? In fact, I went to the official site of the Secretary of Human Health Services, and that was the first thing I saw: the importance of getting your flu shot. Every time I drive by Walgreens, there it is a sign "Get your flu shot."

Even the Times of India reported that the H5N1 was mixed with H3N2, and the Times went on to say "Accidental release of a mixture of live H5N1 and H3N2 viruses could have resulted in dire consequences. While H5N1 doesn't easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hybrid virus able to transmit easily to and among people."

According to Fox 35, the CDC has confirmed that the swine flu has porcine gelatin (derived from pork) and that some religious groups may object to taking the vaccination due to religious reasons. It has been suggested that Muslims, Jews, and Seventh Day Adventist might object. Initially, when we heard of their not getting the vaccine, the Public did not remember that Malia has asthma. This was documented when The First Family was interviewed by CBSNews and it was learned that there were some concerns about the "first puppy" due to her asthma.
Obviously, since she does have a health issue, she should be in the profile for getting the vaccine first. the CDC states on its website: "2009 H1N1 MONOVALENT FLU VACCINE: Persons with asthma aged 6 months through 64 years are listed in the priority groups to receive initial doses of the injectable, inactivated, 2009 H1N1 influenza A monovalent vaccine when it becomes available in their community."
So, is this just another Obama lie? Why would he not make sure Malia received the H1N1 vaccine? Religious reasons? Or does he not trust it? If he doesn't trust it for his child, why should we trust it for ours?

As of today, on the Whitehouse blog, it appears that the Obama girls have been vaccinated. According to the First Lady's Secretary (spin doctor), Catherine McCormick-Lelyveld they were vaccinated last week. Rather odd that when it was reported that President Obama was vaccinated for the seasonal flu, he failed to mention the children were vaccinated for H1N1.According to D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty's website, the H1N1 vaccine became available on the same day that President Obama received his "seasonal' flu shot. he would have been aware they were getting it the same day.
In a way, I was hoping that our "Hopey-Changey President" decided to move away from the idiotic vaccination method altogether and that he had taken the advice of a Naturopath to change his family's diet instead, as I've written today in an article, "Promoting An Alkaline Diet to Curtail the H1Ni Flu."
I am sorry, but practically everything that comes out of this White House has been full of holes, and, I for one. do not have any faith in what comes out of it. It is manipulative.

oseltamivir Is an anti-viral drug and is NOT the same thing as the Flu shot. You cannot make the argument by quoting WHO's position on the anti-viral medication to support your argument not to get the Flu shot. They are 2 completely different animals.
Tamiflu is another name for oseltamivir and is being used to vaccinate for H1N1,

You really need to check your facts before spreading misinformation. If you want to promote an idea or a cause then do it with facts, not half truths or lies. Robert Gibbs didn't say that the Obama girls were not ever receiving the vaccine. He said that they hadn't received it "yet" on October 8th, because at that time it wasn't available to them. Which was true because the vaccine was only available in limited quantity at that point . Most places don't even have it now. The hospitals and clinics where I live have no idea when they are getting the vaccine or how much they will get, so there's a chance that even here only people with immunodeficiency issues will receive it.

First of all, let's look at what he said,"it's not available to them yet, based on their risk," What he is saying is the,according to WHO, the vaccine is not to be used as a "prophylaxis"(protection against the H1N1 flu). This is totally different from what the CDC is recommending. My grandchildren have already received the "mist", so don't tell me that the Obama girls couldn't have received it. That's ridiculous.
The essential thing to note is that the WHO recommendations are totally different from the CDC and the USHHS
Big question is Why?
Okay, first. Just because you say that Tamiflu is a vaccine doesn't make it fact. Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is completely different from the H1N1 vaccine. Vaccines are used to prevent the disease, Tamiflu is used to treat the disease in people who either have confirmed cases or in some medically indicative situations it is given to those who have been exposed to the disease. WHO is saying that Tamiflu should not be used as a prevention and the CDC recommendations are saying the same thing. The part that you quoted from the CDC simply says that Tamiflu should be used for H1N1 infection, meaning once someone is infected. The CDC doesn't say anywhere that Tamiflu should be used to prevent the disease. You can't twist the facts just because you feel like it. On WHO's website it gives guidelines as to who should have priority in receiving the vaccine, with health care workers at the forefront.
Second, you titled your article, "Sasha and Malia Will Not Receive the Swine Flu Vaccine". This is a flat out lie and misrepresentation of what was actually said. It is fear mongering at it's best. If you want to have a real conversation about this or other subjects then you need to be willing to be truthful.
Third, the quote that you used to say that the Obama girls aren't getting the vaccine was given by Robert Gibbs on October 8th. What he said was true on October 8th. Only people with immunodeficiency issues were getting it then, so he was not saying anything against what the WHO or CDC were saying then. So when he said "they haven't gotten it YET" it was because of the vaccine situation then, on October 8th. And this statement is still holding true in some parts of the county who do not yet have any or much of the vaccine available to them. Even the mist that your grandkids have received is not yet available in most parts of the country.
that is not true. Pediatricians were distributing the vaccine for H1N1 to every kid on the block, for the last 2 months. My grand kids do not have any "immunodeficiency" and we run a daycare here and were given pamphlets to distribute from the State to give to the parents promoting the vaccination.

A lot of your more fringe references to rogue plots misses the point that injected vaccines do not contain any live virus. In the case of flu, they dont even contain 'dead' virus. Its virus proteins and derivatives. Now the nasal spray method contains a small amount of radiologically weakened virus which should be totally unable to reproduce, but your sources are suggesting that there are contaminations in the liquid vaccine tincture. This is simply not possible given the solution the liquid vaccines are created from. No viral life of influenza origin would survive in it, only its proteins would remain, which are entirely inert. you could put whatever H#N# you wanted in there, it would be totally safe (though, i assure you, contaminations likely never occurred at all)

blame big pharm if you wish, and i agree that calling it a pandemic now is not correct. But it was done because pharmaceuticals and hospitals have to jump through crazy legal tape to get any non-routine vaccine. this includes H1N1. its just how legislation works. It is only by declaring it a high level epidemic that the previously emplaced legal code can be ignored. That legal code is the largest reason (i refrain from using "real" cause there are other ancillary reasons) why the vaccine was so hard to come by. If you were seeing tons of people get vaccinated either you live in an extremely lucky area which is very much the opposite of the norm, or you were seeing large scale vaccinations for the seasonal flu viruses, not H1N1.
please remember, this is a virus that is killing people. It honestly isnt that virulent in most of the population, but it has an decently high lethality in opportunist infections (children under 10, adults over 65, immunocompromised individuals). This is a virus that can be completely and totally prevented from having another single mortality to it if a large portion of the population (herd immunity theory suggests you need 67% of the likely to be infected individuals) got vaccinated.
Yes the vaccine, at least in liquid form, has mercury. But that one shot with small amounts of mercury is unlikely to be the cause of anything, while enough people dodging the vaccine will lead to more deaths. That is simple fact. The reason why they are pushing this so vaccine so much is because a potentially fatal disease can be totally eliminated from society.

Season flu is the most deadly virus in the world every year. but seasonal flu kills people of every age. This virus is only a danger to a small percentage of the population, so it is very likely a possibility to vaccinate enough of them to eradicate it. I'm sure there is some greater scheme where big pharm is pulling the strings, but i prefer occam's razor. The simplest reason of why we'd do all this to eradicate a virus is probably the most true.
First of all had this been the Bush Administration you most likely would not be talking about this. Second of all, I am stationed in TX, and our County has only received 200 H1N1 vaccines total. Second, most of the military has yet to receive the vaccine as well. I know this because I work in the immunizations clinic and we send up (as well as receive weekly reports) on the status of each base's flu vaccines status. So just because your little community was lucky enough to receive it that doesn't make it true for the rest of the country. We as a clinic, dependent on how much we receive, only provide the vaccine to HIGH RISK first unless we have enough to vaccinate all, then we open it up to all. This is what we have been doing with seasonal flu and this is what we will be doing with H1N1 when we do receive it. So yes the President and his kids are not high risk and are being considerate to let those who REALLY NEED IT FIRST take it instead of being selfish and taking it over someone who really needs it right now. Second of all READ the CDC and WHO guidelines again. Tamiflu is an antiviral and is used for treatment of FLU and in some cases as a prophylaxis. THE vaccine is used to HELP prevent H1N1, just like seasonal flu vaccine is used to HELP prevent seasonal flu....Third, the media has made such a big deal out of H1N1 that it is driving people to be afaraid. The season flu still is causing more deaths then H1N1, however, it is still highly recomended and to get vaccinated for bothe seasonal and H1N1. Fourth, there has not yet been any link that any vaccine causes autism. Just because one court case said there may have been a possibility that they did does not make it face. My point about Afro-Americans is that they are a genetic subset, which may, or may not be a variable. For example, it was noted that Mexicans, in theory, were more susceptible to the virus, at least, that seemed to be the observation.

I'm going to interject one more time, and this time add that I am a physician and have a degree in public health so this argument is getting silly.
I said it earlier, the sole reason why an epidemic was declared was because it allows the hospitals and physicians to get around the tons of federal red tape. We can simply order the vaccine now if we can show a demand for it.
The reason why you vaccinate now is that flu viruses are NOT seasonal. Their mutation cycle is. So while the regular flu sweeps through the US and runs out a high enough percentage of people to infect to be noticeable by mid-winter, it continues to exist in a less virulent form spreading slowly from person to person while various mutations eventually lead to the new "re-virulent" strain. H1N1 has a caveat that it has a high lethality in a few demographics. By not getting the vaccine you are increasing the chances of your own infection. Which is not a big thing, but that means you will likely be directly involved putting someone under the age of 10 or over the age of 65 into grave danger if they come near you within the 7 days following your contraction of it.
given that children in the at risk area are often in large pre-schools together in close vicinity, this has led to a mortality pattern in H1N1 where 5 or 6 people from the same preschool will die and the remainder will become gravely ill. I feel like the, factually correct, imagery of 5 or 6 small caskets all due to a preschool with unvaccinated children might make a bit of an impact. H1N1 can be entirely stopped, and likely cease to exist, if a certain threshold of vaccinations are reached.
This isnt political. This is common sense. also, i took a look into the studies on mercury in vaccines. I do not like that they contain mercury, but there has yet to be a single peer edited study that shows any detrimental link at all. The court case you brought up had no scientific backing, its legal defense was a very late onset of autism and eliminating other known causes of late onset autism, to state that the vaccines must be the cause. eliminating other causes doesnt implicate the final cuase.
I will say one thing though, and i hope you do not take this the wrong way. Statistically, those of all african and afro-american descents in the united states have the highest rate of mistrust in medicine and the highest rate of treatment non-compliance. This is greatly do to with the fact that African Americans, and no other race, were used in the 30's (into the 70's in one case) to test the progression of diseases. This is a grave mark against medical science that we strive to overcome. But it is common that the most outspoken critics of medicine such as vaccines do come from the african and afro-american community, and as a medical professional i have to try my best (when im working) to explain why you have to have faith that we truly are attempting to save lives with what we do now and WILL NOT ever lead anyone into harm again.

I would also like to point out that vaccines in general have saved millions of lives. Yes it is true that vaccines can have serious side effects for some but the vast majority take them very well. Lets not forget all of us have been vaccinated with these so called "poisons" for years and yet the vast majority of us are perfectly fine. Without vaccines Small Pox would not have been eradicated as a virus. Yes it can still be biologically manufactured and kill people but IT HAS to be biologically manufactured to do so. You cannot "catch" small pox these days. Polio vaccine has saved millions of lives and has pretty much been eradicated from our country. Measels, mumps, and rubella was getting there until people stopped vaccinating against it. WE get immunized against Hepatitis A & B, chicken pox, bacterial meningitis, Haemophilus Influenzae Type b (Hib) Vaccine, pneumonia, and rota virus. If we did not vaccinate we would have a lot more sick children dealing with much deadlier diseases. And if you think we have a health problem in America today it would be much worse without vaccines. Other countries wish they could be vaccinated against diseases like these but cannot. So we should all be so lucky that we can do so. If you choose not to put these "poisons" in your body then don't but remember that you, no matter how healthy you are, can still catch them and die from them. If that is the risk you choose to take then by all means do so, if that is the risk you choose to take with your children then by all means do so. Just do me and the rest of the public a favor who choose to vaccinate ourselves and our children, do not step foot in public if you are sick. I do want my child or my niece or anyone who cannot be vaccinated due to health conditions or age to catch something that could be prevented.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty darn sure that there is no possible way this is true -- that not only was the mist for H121 not being widely distributed two months ago, but that it wasn't even completed yet. Are you sure you're not getting H1N1 vaccine mixed up with seasonal flu vaccine? It seems much more likely that seasonal flu mist is actually what your grandchildren received two months ago. That's a small issue in the great scheme of the debate, but when emotions are getting high, it is important to make sure that we're debating with facts.

Colloidal silver products are made of tiny silver particles suspended in a liquid — the same type of precious metal used in jewelry, dental fillings, silverware and other consumer goods. Colloidal silver products are usually marketed as dietary supplements that you take by mouth. Colloidal silver products also come in forms to spray, to apply to your skin or to inject.
Manufacturers of colloidal silver products often claim that they are cure-alls, boosting your immune system, fighting bacteria and viruses, and treating cancer, HIV/AIDS, shingles, herpes, eye ailments and prostatitis. However, no sound scientific studies to evaluate these health claims have been published in reputable medical journals. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration has taken action against some manufacturers of colloidal silver products for making unproven health claims.

But onto the topic, conspiracy theories say that vaccines are ways to actually keep the public sick. Could this be true then (I haven't really thought much on it until this) because he is refusing it for his children while they clearly SHOULD be getting it... seems strange to me!
